Let's Play Some Ball!

It's baseball season now, and boy are we ready. Ben has his Fantasy Baseball team up and running (which he won last year) and we're cheering for the Reds. Maybe this will be their year... ;P

We also wanted to post that next Saturday, April 26, there is a baseball tournament being held at Fisher Catholic High School for Ben/ALS. So if you're interested, come on out and we'll see you there. Here's the details:

COST IS 3 DOLLARS FOR ADULTS AND 1 DOLLAR FOR STUDENTS AND KIDS....1 PRICE FOR ALL 3 GAMES....WE ARE HOPING TO INTRODUCE THE THIMMES FAMILY BEFORE THE 2:00 GAME. ALUMNI WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE.

As you may or may not know, Ben coached Fisher's JV team for 3 years with the coaches from Lancaster and Fisher Catholic. Here's a picture of Coach Thimmes:

Also, Ben now has his power wheelchair up and running, and hooray for technology and the kindness of those who have given us this opportunity. No longer do I have to struggle to push him up the hill. We all went to the mall last week, and Sophie loved finding her Dada in the store. We are still working on a van and some other things to make life a little easier.

Our Thimmes Care Team is up and running starting this week, and wow, the response was amazing! Who knew we had so many friends and family who wanted to help. At this point, we have a lot of help signed up. But if you want to be on the e-mail list, let me know. I can add you to the CareTeam e-mails. That way, if someone wants to take a break, I can find someone else easily to fill-in.
